People are likely to prefer an AI recommendation over a human one when they’re driven by practical needs, viewing the advice as logical and rational. By contrast, when people make decisions based on more experiential and emotional factors, they’d prefer suggestions from humans.

Gen Z is skeptical

This generation often seeks to know the benefits of new tech before they adopt it. Despite being at the forefront of major technological shifts in our lifestyle and media habits, many Gen Zers remain skeptical about incorporating the latest digital innovations in their daily lives.

Only 38% of Gen Zers believe that the metaverse is the next big thing and would become part of our lives in the next decade.

85% report that they feel indifferent about brands developing a presence in the virtual world.

With pandemic-induced Zoom fatigue, people are waking up to the limitations of the automated world, leading some to appreciate face-to-face interactions more. While AI and deep fake tv shows are on the horizon, the rise of AI may prompt people to return to pre-internet pursuits.
